PURPOSE OF CONTRACT: Support to the research of systems with application in radiopharmacy. Collaborator on activities related to the project/agreement stated.
PROJECT DETAILS Title: Agentes quelatantes para una nueva generación de Radiofármacos (CHANGER)
Referencia administrativa: PID2022-138335NB-I00
Investigador principal: Carlos Platas Iglesias and David Esteban Gómez
CALL DETAILS Title: Research Associate to support and collaborate in research tasks corresponding to his/her specialization for the characterization and physicochemical and biological study of coordination compounds. The research is oriented towards the design of new radiopharmaceuticals based on isotopes of metal ions of interest with potential applications as theranostics.
Center: Interdisciplinary Center of Chemistry and Biology (CICA) / Faculty of Sciences (Universidade da Coruña, UDC)
Tasks to be performed: Support research on chelating systems with potential application in the development of new radiopharmaceuticals for diagnosis and therapy.Collaborate in the synthesis of selective chelating systems.Carry out studies of thermodynamic stability and chemical inertness of isolated complexes, both in water and serum.Evaluate the feasibility of functionalization of prepared systems and their combination with peptides and other biovectors of interest.Justification for the duration of the contract: The tasks to be performed throughout the contract are distributed according to the following work plan:
Stage 1: Assistance in the synthesis and characterization of chelating systems and derived complexes using common characterization techniques (electronic absorption and emission spectroscopies, NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and MS spectrometry). Participation in preliminary studies of thermodynamic stability in aqueous medium and kinetic inertness of complexes against acid-catalyzed hydrolysis.Stage 2: Assistance in the functionalization of the most promising chelating systems and subsequent coupling with biovectors of interest. Analysis of the chemical response of the systems through radiolabeling studies.Stage 3: Assistance in interpreting results and preparing reports.Requirements Research Field: Chemistry
