Join the renewable energy sources project for our Scandinavian client. Description: · Background – Following a strategic decision to embrace AWS as a cloud provider. We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Warehouse Consultant with strong expertise in designing and implementing AWS Redshift data warehouse solutions. This role will be pivotal in supporting data teams as we expand our cloud data capabilities, acting as a mentor and guiding the development of internal expertise in AWS data warehousing. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical experience, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) proficiency, and excellent communication skills to foster team learning and collaboration. · Team: The Team consists of 6 members – Product Owner, hands-on Architect, 3 developers and a Scrum Master. Team members have expertise in Azure DWH and data engineering, they are on the learning journey to master Redshift Data Warehousing. The Team uses Scrum with Kanban as foundation of the way of working. · Location – Poland, remote with possible on-site workshops 1-2 per quarter. Day-to-day responsibilities: · 1. Data Warehouse Architecture & Implementation: Support the Data Warehouse Team in architecting, building, optimizing, and setting up monitoring of a scalable Redshift data warehouse. Work closely with other teams to ensure that the solution is secure and well-documented 2. Infrastructure as Code: Utilize Terraform to automate and manage AWS infrastructure, ensuring that data solutions are robust, maintainable, and efficiently deployed. 3. Mentorship & Team Development: Serve as a technical mentor to data engineering and analytics teams, sharing best practices for data architecture, providing pair programming sessions, and guiding team members as they grow their AWS expertise. Requirements: We are seeking an experienced AWS DWH Consultant or hands-on Architect to implement data warehousing solutions in a greenfield environment. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of AWS services, with a strong focus on data engineering tools and experience in setting up scalable, reliable data warehousing solutions. This is not a data engineering position and the effort focuses on infrastructure build-up. • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in data warehouse architecture and implementation, with demonstrated expertise in AWS Redshift and related AWS data services (S3, Glue, etc.). • Terraform: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CICD to automate, manage, and deploy AWS services linked to DWH stack. • AWS Redshift: Solid experience with AWS Redshift for data warehousing, including security, performance tuning, data loading, and optimization of storage and compute resources. • AWS Glue: Familiarity with deploying and using AWS Glue for ETL processes, and integration with Redshift and other AWS data services. • Greenfield Implementation: Demonstrated experience in planning, architecting, and deploying data warehousing solutions from scratch in a greenfield environment, addressing scalability, performance, and cost considerations. • Soft Skills: Great communication skills, good listening abilities, and patience to effectively mentor and support a growing data warehouse team. • Analytical Mindset: Proven problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues in the data ecosystem • Best practices guidance: Provide guidance and implement best practices for DWH architecture, focusing on cost-effective resource usage, data governance, and performance optimization. • Ways of working: fluent English and familiarity with Agile ways of working along with the ability to explain technical matters to business stakeholders.
