We are on a journey to transform our business to become more customer-centric, higher performing, and to play an important role in bp's net zero ambition.This role will help drive our sustainability agenda by providing key analytics, insights, and strategic input to Air bp's sustainability strategy, in alignment with bp group's aims and ambition.
The role is fundamental to drive our advocacy priorities and translating policy into business recommendations as well as supporting to shape policies based on business priorities and industry goals.Responsibilities:Together with C&EA, stay up to date with sustainability trends and policies impacting our business and understanding their implications.Use policy expertise to highlight business threats and opportunities and quantify business impact from existing and emerging sector sustainability policy in cooperation with commercial teams.Help shape aviation's sustainability strategy towards 2035 and beyond, with key insights on trends, economics, policy, regulations, and business opportunities.Provide analytics on potential scenarios on transition pace and technologies (e.G.
SAF, electric, hydrogen, offsets, etc.)
and their business implications.Maintain demand models for Sustainable Aviation Fuel use and impact on bp bio demand.Inform leadership and other businesses on Aviation's requirements for sustainable fuels and products.Coordinate policy advocacy activities in the European Economic Area, with relation to ReFuelEU Aviation implementation and impacts of national implementation of RED III on the Aviation business.Communicate and align with peers in other bp groups that work on advocacy.Hold and develop external interfaces that help us progress on our advocacy agenda.Represent Air bp at selected events that will support our advocacy priorities.Support the development of low carbon capability within bp aviation, delivering awareness, learning materials, and training sessions.Help inform and shape decisions for Air bp's Aim 3 roadmap, monitoring the roadmap implementation and highlighting any interventions needed.Support growth opportunities in the area of low carbon and sustainability – especially on the commercialization of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).Support the strategic agenda with external stakeholders by progressing key workstreams within the areas of advocacy, technology, prototype testing, and commercial deals.What Should You Bring to This Role?Proven work in policy – quick understanding, ability to write position papers and translate policy into business requirements and value at stake.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with multi-disciplinary internal and external parties.Strong commercial acumen – preferably in aviation.Ability to coordinate across multiple teams, geographies, and companies.Sound analytical/financial competence with ability to translate data into key strategic insights.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Advanced analytics work within Microsoft Office suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Applies creative thinking and market insight to contribute to the development, articulation, and implementation of strategy.Education and Skills:Bachelor or equivalent professional qualification.Proficient English (verbal & writing), additional EU languages are a plus.Proven work experience in policy, strategy, communications, sustainability, analytics.Experience in commercial operations and biofuels is a plus.At bp, we recognize and support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and exciting environment.
