The Global Field Medical Excellence Director / Ass Director role (GFMEx) is responsible for having quality oversight and coordination across Field Medical Excellence operations OUS (outside US) in support of the overall Global Medical Affairs (GMA) strategy and business objectives. The GFMEx Director/ Ass Director will drive core capabilities through the implementation of the TA playbook in collaboration with therapy area leads. A key element of this role is to engage with global, area and affiliate medical teams as well as cross-functional stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of the business needs is required to create synergies and drive efficiencies across geographies. Working within a matrix,the GFMEx Director / Ass Director will be the SME on field medical within the TA with the goal being to ensure clarity and harmonization of roles and responsibilities of the field functions, as well as ensuring compliance standards are maintained. A key output of the GFMEx Director/Ass Director is analysis of field activities using data sources and insights and to present these to the global TA teams as well as extended medical excellence partners. This will help to guide (or develop) strategy, processes and resources for our in-field teams. The GFMEx Director/Ass Director will also be responsible for driving EE engagement plans with the global teams ensuring clear communication channels with all stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesParticipates in development of medical plans focusing on the role of field medical and GMA alignment.Works in collaboration with medical excellence functions to enhance ways of working and tools available when required.Collaborates with analytics team to ensure dashboard capability to report on KPIs / monitoring metrics.Responsible for ensuring medical strategy is fully implemented in the affiliates in partnership with the area team.Co-creates TA reports with digital ops team, area and affiliate teams and serves as the TA SME on data analytics and utilization.Ensures DPO/Insights process is fully understood and implemented.Generates analysis and insights to work with TA lead to shape/monitor strategy in global TA. Outputs/actions should be shared with area and affiliate stakeholders to close the loop.Creates Medical Discussion Topics with input from TA. Manages the process of OEC approval, communicates to operations team for Veeva implementation, updates the MDT reference document and communicates as needed with appropriate stakeholders, facilitates training if needed.Ensures appropriate TA medical challenger tools are in place for use by field medical teams in collaboration with the learning teams.Liaises with area TA & affiliate leads to get regular feedback on material needs and communicates this to the global TA team and scientific communications team.Organizes and co-hosts with TA lead / scientific communications team monthly field medical training (identifies topics, coordinates with TA presenters, hosts sessions making them interactive with questions).Ensures FM TA onboarding plan and materials are in place and kept up to date in coordination with the TA and scientific communications team.Works with area and affiliate leads for new launches to build comprehensive onboarding and continuous development / learning curriculum in tandem with medical scientific communication team (legacy plan also required).Develops a soft skills framework/systems (face to face and digital) as a key element to support through continuous learning opportunities.Highlights TA best practices to the field excellence team and facilitates adoption of best practices to respective TA.Works with matrix team to ensure consistent understanding of the medical role and ensure cross-functional objectives are SMART and compliant.Develops and contributes to global FM manager community in collaboration with the extended team.Maps EE with the global team and links to area and field, ensuring high-level interactions are in the EE tool.Plans, drives, and executes enhancement projects in collaboration with the extended IFEx team.Regularly reviews and updates MSL and MSL manager expectations as needed.Collaborates with technology and operations team to ensure appropriate GMA guidance on Veeva enhancement initiatives and reporting needs.Contributes to Global FM Newsflash; ensures communications are meeting the needs of the FM teams.Serves as an ad hoc member of IFT capability team meetings depending on agenda topics.Demonstrates business acumen for medical IFT - SIP process, account planning.Contributes to the production of field medical training materials.Qualifications:Advanced Degree in a health-related science.Global or Area experience is required.Minimum 10 years scientific/medical experience in pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs.Minimum 5 years experience.
