ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM The Application Department is pivotal to SITA's contribution toward greener, sustainable aviation by enabling flight and air traffic optimization. As the Associate Product Owner, you will collaborate with the Product Manager to translate the product vision into actionable tasks for the development team. You will work closely with the development team to refine user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring clear, actionable requirements that align with product vision and meet customer expectations. Reporting to the Head of the E&T Application Department, you will be responsible for a complex backend component called Common Data Integration, which consumes data from various data sources, and then uses business logic to normalize the data, to then be distributed and consumed by various end products. This makes this component mission critical for the end products, to ensure this data is accurate and delivered in a timely manner. In this role, you will work with a geographically diverse team of software developers and QA's as this is a cross-product back-end component, including cross-product teams in varying time zones. WHAT YOU WILL DO Translate product vision into tasks and user stories; lead development efforts to execute the roadmap within budget and on schedule. Provide functional and non-functional specifications for Engineering & Operations and develop solution documentation. Build relationships with stakeholders to gather requirements, feedback, and alignment on strategic objectives; lead technical discussions on solutions. Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritization, estimation, and burn charts. Act as the primary internal contact, ensuring alignment and communication across stakeholders. Establish project management processes, methodologies, and standards for effective governance. Work closely with the development team to refine user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring clear, actionable requirements that align with the product vision and meet customer needs. Conduct market research and competitive analysis, inform product decisions, and identify innovation opportunities. Track project budget, expenditures, and financial performance, while identifying and mitigating project risks. Define key product metrics to measure success and areas for improvement
