Brief Description: Reporting directly to the country Oncology Medical Director, the AD Oncology Medical Adviser is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the country/regional Medical Affairs strategy and programs that support the development, commercialization and life cycle management of in-market and future Jazz Pharma products oncology.
Oncology and Hematology are major strategic drivers for the business with significant opportunities in current and future indications, making this role critical to the organization's success. As a key member of the country team, the role will demand high cross-functional collaboration.
This role will also lead the in-country team of MSLs responsible for oncology/hematology. He/She will be responsible for developing and delivering of MSLs plans, aligned to the country medical strategy and executed in accordance with individual team member's goals and objectives. He/She will lead, coach and develop their team of MSLs to ensure high quality scientific exchange and collaboration with EEs and key customers. The Oncology Medical Ass Dir. will ensure close collaboration with all cross-functional partners.
The incumbent has responsibility for ensuring all activities are executed in accordance with regulatory and legal frameworks including but not limited to local (FarmaIndustria), EFPIA, GCP and IFPMA regulations as well as Jazz Pharmaceuticals Policies and Healthcare compliance procedures.
Essential Functions Support the Medical Affairs strategy.
Work closely with the Oncology Medical Director to support the development and execution of the local medical affairs strategy, following adaptation of the EUR/INT plans.
The incumbent will develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of oncology and hematology areas of development, as well as of the related scientific literature in order to position him/herself as an expert in the field.
Review and critically appraise scientific literature to identify key drivers that differentiate Jazz's medicines and provide support and advice to medical and marketing groups in developing strategy and tactical implementation plans.
Ensure the KEE engagement and educational related activities are of a high scientific quality and highly coordinated.
Provide medical and scientific input in the brand team on appropriate medical messages and product positioning.
Contribute to the development of and maintain awareness of the competitive landscape and communicate competitive intelligence to the medical and marketing team as appropriate.
Provide guidance regarding appropriate speakers for national/international congresses and workshops to expand and enhance scientific exchange.
Provide expert medical information for promotional, educational, and other scientific materials in collaboration with marketing and other appropriate internal stakeholders.
Provide scientific education and in-house training for MSLs and Key Account Managers and other appropriate staff as required.
External Relationships
Support development of Jazz positioning as the scientific authority within the Oncology/Hematology TA and acts as a bridge between the company and the medical community.
Develop strategic partnerships with appropriate stakeholders (KEE's, pharmacists, local authorities, collaborative groups and scientific societies etc) to ensure that the oncology/hematology portfolio is appropriately positioned in treatment guidelines and protocols through the provision of balanced, scientific information.
Support development of local advocacy plans through provision of scientific and clinical information and expert engagement plans
Attend appropriate local, regional and national scientific congresses to stay abreast of developments as well as the international scientific meetings if required.
Data Generation and Publication Planning
Lead the development and execution of local evidence generation (study plans to provide post marketing data to support the portfolio of Jazz Oncology/Hematology products, observational and pharmaco-economic studies) to provide data to support the Oncology/Hematology portfolio strategy according to the local unmet needs and requirements.
Support development of publication plans covering the local data generation needs.
Support the approval and implementation of these projects in line with relevant pharmaceutical regulations and Jazz SOPs as appropriate.
Support the Company Clinical Development Program at the affiliate level as required.
Leadership of the MSL team
Lead, develop and build a high performing MSL team
Manage, coach and develop direct reports.
Set SMART objectives and track, measure and report progress of MSL plans.
Ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements.
Ensure systems, processes and ways of working are in place to facilitate:
Expert scientific knowledge of all MSL team members o Effective on boarding and training of new team members
Development of collaborative medical affairs projects/partnerships with EEs e.g. data generation activities including Investigator Sponsored Trials and scientific publications
Ensure effective H/O Key Account Planning with cross functional partners o Effective development, planning and utilization of External Experts (EEs)
Appropriate positioning of Jazz Pharmaceutical medicines in medical guidelines o High standards with regards to pharmacovigilance reporting, compliance and SOPs
Delivery of medical information to internal and external customers on request and in a timely manner

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Previous and consolidated experience of working in an affiliate Medical Advisor role.
Deep knowledge of specialty Oncology and Hematology market in Spain (Portugal a distinct advantage)
Tracked experience developing and implementing Medical Affairs plans at a country level.
Experience launching new products, market shaping and launch readiness activities.
Proven experience of people management, managing MSLs team a distinct advantage.
Ability to critically analyze complex data.
Clear and concise and impactful communication and presentation skills.

Strong inter-personal relationship building skills/collaboration and teamwork.
Experience in establishing strong influential relationships with all relevant stakeholders
Excellent command of spoken and written English.
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses Strong preference for a Medical Doctor/pharmaceutical physician
Graduate with a higher scientific qualification e.g. MSc, PhD or pharmacy etc. and Oncology/Hematology experience
