Associate Director, Head of Purchasing
The Head of Purchasing guides and coordinates the Purchasing organization, including accountability for target setting and facilitating Purchasing value contribution to the Amadeus business while ensuring compliance with policies, strategies, and processes.
This role also involves managing strategic relationships with key vendors and stakeholders, as well as guiding the strategies of different Purchasing Categories at a global level.
In this role, you will:
Facilitate the development and implementation of the purchasing strategy, contributing to Amadeus' Business Strategy.
Develop strategic direction for the year, to achieve Purchasing objectives aligned with Amadeus' Business Strategy.
Identify future improvement possibilities and coordinate Category Strategy exercises, ensuring yearly plans are implemented for all sets of Indirect Spend.
Set organization targets across all categories and oversee major projects impacting the Purchasing function.
Guide the Purchasing Organization by:
Communicating performance expectations clearly and proactively addressing performance-related issues.
Guiding team members in accordance with the Amadeus management principles and ensuring the purchasing organization evolves with Amadeus values and goals.
Management of key stakeholders and business representatives by:
Securing agreement and support for major Purchasing initiatives and communicating cost reduction plans and targets.
Representing Business Units' needs in category strategies and coordinating with the CPO and CPO Office to align actions and messages.
Support Key Sourcing Initiatives and Management of Strategic Vendors by:
Supporting strategic sourcing activities and developing partnerships with key strategic vendors to create additional value for Amadeus.
Defining a global vendor management footprint and governance to ensure a common worldwide approach.
Manage Purchasing Model and Source to Pay by:
Upholding the main principles of the Purchasing Model.
Coordinating activities related to the Source to Pay process, tools, and organization.
Developing the Purchasing tooling ecosystem and ensuring alignment with the rest of the Finance functions.
About the ideal candidate
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or Engineering. MBA or equivalent experience is considered a plus.
Extensive experience guiding multinational/multicultural teams.
Significant experience managing complex purchasing scopes and category management environments, providing wide and deep insights into Indirect Purchasing practices.
Demonstrated ability to deliver results and meet deadlines in a dynamic organization.
Proficiency in English is required; Spanish and/or French is a plus.
Computing skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office, ERP systems (ideally SAP), Contract management tools, Sourcing tools (ideally Coupa, Ariba), P2P systems (ideally Coupa, Ariba or similar), and Virtual collaboration tools (SharePoints, etc.).
