If you want to have an impact on transformingpatients' lives by accelerating new medicines to patients, this may be the position for you!We are looking for an experienced Bioinformatics Scientist to join our translationalBioinformatics team.What You'll Do:Contribute to the development of innovative and transformative data analysiscapabilities as part of a cross-functional team.Analyse and interrogate multi-omics biomarker signatures for applications such aspredicting drug failure due to toxicity or predicting patient outcomes in clinical studies.Work collaboratively with data and drug discovery scientists to deliver insights that will have direct impact on the drug discovery and development pipeline.Support testing and verification of FAIR data management systems in collaboration with AZ stakeholders.Demonstrate effective communication to translate complex concepts to non-experts in internal and external scientific meetings.Contribute ideas and provide creative input to projects across multiple disease areas including respiratory, immunology, cardiovascular, renal, metabolism andneuroscience.Remain at the cutting edge of bioinformatics.Essential for the Role:PhD in bioinformatics or related field and 5+ years relevant experienceFirst-hand experience in the analysis and interpretation of large, complex datasetsExpertise in transcriptomics and/or proteomic analysisExperience with analysis of gene networksExperience with R and/or PythonAbility to explore novel bioinformatic approaches to improve sensitivity andspecificity of existing software solutions
