of Positions: 1 Location: GTA, ON Description This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Tax Specialist to join a solid and dynamic Fund Finance Tax Services team.
This position supports the company's objectives by managing the tax compliance and structuring of funds.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure seamless tax operations, regulatory compliance, and process improvement.

Responsibilities Manage the annual filings for indirect taxes and oversee communication with investors.
Handle non-resident withholding tax responsibilities, including reviewing treaty rates, performing calculations, submitting filings to the CRA, addressing investor inquiries, and resolving audit issues.
Coordinate and supervise third-party tax providers for federal and provincial tax filings, such as T5013, T3, T5008, indirect taxes, and non-resident withholding requirements.
Deliver comprehensive analyses and clear responses to investor tax inquiries while ensuring the accuracy of investor data and tax documentation.
Evaluate and implement process improvements, enhance operational efficiency, and oversee tax-focused projects to align with organizational goals.
Track legislative updates impacting fund tax obligations and spearhead related communication and implementation initiatives.
Assist with tax due diligence and establish compliance frameworks for new Canadian fund launches.
Qualifications 8+ years of experience in Canadian partnership and mutual fund/unit trust taxation.
Strong knowledge of Canadian partnership and mutual fund trust structures investing in foreign funds.
Proven ability to effectively communicate technical and business requirements, with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage complex tax matters independently.
Proven leadership and coaching abilities to inspire and guide team members effectively.
Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning in management and technical tax areas.
CPA designation or equivalent is required.
Completion of CPA Canada in-depth tax courses or a master's degree in taxation is an asset.
