Offer DescriptionApplications are invited by the University of Alicante President for an open-ended contractual position as an assistant technologist to collaborate with the funded research line "Satellite Geodesy for Earth Observation and Climate Change". Project GVA-THINKINAZUL/2021/035 funded by the Valencia Region Government's Department of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment and by the European Union's NextGeneration Programme. Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancy: Number of job vacancies: one.Job position: assistant technologist.Funded line of research: "Satellite Geodesy for Earth Observation and Climate Change".Working hours: full-time position in morning/afternoon sessions.Remuneration: €1,500 gross/monthly plus two extra payments of the same amount.Second. First project in which the successful applicant will collaborate: Name of the project: "Towards a system for observation and monitoring of currents off the Valencian coast. Application to pollutant dispersion and biological applications".Tasks to be carried out: The successful applicant will collaborate in the research project by carrying out the following tasks:Developing and applying algorithms for outlier detection in time series of ocean currents.Implementing a data pre-processing pipeline.Generating automated reports on data quality.Optimising data analysis tools.Validating time series of ocean currents.Implementing an online graphic visualisation environment.Automating and optimising processes.Participating in weekly meetings.Third. Application assessment criteria: Experience (maximum 3 points): performance of tasks and activities related to the tasks listed.Additional education (maximum 3 points): Qualifications related to the tasks described.Knowledge of English (maximum 1 point): Only levels higher than the one required will be assessed.Fourth. Requirements for applicants: Hold a technical diploma or equivalent.Have Spanish nationality or be in a qualifying situation.Have a good command of any of the official languages of the Valencia Region.Be at least 16 years of age and not over the maximum age for compulsory retirement.Possess the physical and mental capacities necessary for the performance of the relevant duties.Not be disqualified by final judgement or for disciplinary reasons.Full terms and conditions of this call for researchers can be found at the following link:
