Offer Description UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE calls for applications to cover an open-ended contractual assistant research position to collaborate with the funded line of research "Sustainable management of aquaculture". Reference: I-PI 83-24
This project (CAMBIA) is developed with the collaboration of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, through the Pleamar Programme, and is co-financed by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).
First. Number of job vacancies and employment conditions of the contract:
Number of job vacancies: one
Job position: Assistant Researcher
Funded line of research: "Sustainable management of aquaculture"
Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in morning/afternoon sessions
Remuneration: €1,400 gross/month (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations)

Tasks to be carried out:
Sampling campaigns on the coast of Alicante and Murcia; separation and identification of benthic fauna
Quantification of exploitable biomass of marine invertebrates
Data analysis and reporting of results
Writing of articles and dissemination of results in scientific events
Third. Job profile:
Preference will be given to:
Those with experience and training related to the tasks mentioned above
Statistical data analysis programmes
Autonomous diving sampling campaigns
Hold a type B driving licence
Hold the FEDAS 1 star diver certificate or higher or equivalent qualification
Hold the LN navigation licence or higher or equivalent qualification
Qualification: Official Master's degree in Aquaculture, Sustainable Fisheries Management, Marine Ecology, Biotechnology, or any other official Master's degree with equivalent content
Fourth. Requirements for applicants:
Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree (Spanish MECES level 2 or EQF level 6 in Marine Science, Biology, or similar official university degree)
Be a Spanish national or in one of the situations listed in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015
Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age
Possess the physical and mental capacities necessary for the performance of the corresponding functions or tasks
Must not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from public administrations
