Assistant Controller - Operations Location : Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands; OR Madrid, Spain Status : Exempt (salaried) Department : Finance / Accounting Position Summary The Assistant Controller - Operations is an integral position in the EMEA Finance Team, providing operational finance support to our European business.
This role will help drive strategic decision making within the business based upon the measurement of financial data.
This position is tasked with assisting the Operations Controller in building out and providing ongoing financial metrics so that business strategies can be refined and improved.
This role works closely with manufacturing operations, logistics, purchasing and finance to ensure accurate financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is comfortable shifting priorities and lending finance expertise within diverse work assignments as needed.
Core Duties and Responsibilities Support the monthly / quarterly financial and operational reporting activities of the Company Support Operations Controller with product costing, inventory management, margin reviews and other operational initiatives Prepare and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis requested by Executive management and department leaders as needed to support the business Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and systems to enhance department workflows Develop a strong understanding of the Company's operations, products and cost drivers Develop broad expertise in the Company's financial reporting systems to help drive improved accuracy timeliness of operational reporting Support the Company's SOX program, including documentation, testing and making ongoing recommendations for internal control process changes Develop and grow strong cross-functional relationships to ensure the achievement of department and business objectives through collaboration and communication Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions Perform all other duties as assigned Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Accounting / Finance, CPA preferred Five (5) or more years of related work experience including experience within manufacturing operations Financial systems ERP experience Cost Accounting experience Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail Superior communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively Excellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivated Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality Plug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
