The primary function of the Assistant Manager, Accounting will be to oversee and control all in-country finance & accounting activities. They will provide regional leadership to develop and manage compliance and controls within corporate and country requirements. Additionally, they will manage the country's implementation of all Finance & Accounting Global and local processes and requirements, as well as provide financial and accounting advice, guidance and support to Corporate Services partners and BU Leaders. What you'll do Oversee Accounting & all reporting for both Statutory and US GAAP requirements for the Spain entities (including GL, A/P, T&E, banks, A/R, payroll, monthly/quarterly/Year-end closing, annual reporting) Lead and coordinate preparation and execution of Month/Quarterly/Year-end accounting closing process Lead preparation and execution of Legal financial accounts and any other Legal Finance reporting Lead relationship with external Statutory Auditors and the execution of Legal Statutory Audits processes Internal control – enforce and control the application of global policies & procedures and ensure full compliance with country legal requirements Tax compliance: Lead preparation and execution of VAT and indirect tax returns – support Tax team to the execution of corporate Returns and any Tax Audits. Order-to-cash - provide support of centralized process for invoicing & collection- Provide guidance on country requirements to ensure full compliance Source-to-pay – provide support of centralized process for Procurement and Account Payable Drive continuous improvement and innovation by actively executing management initiatives and Controller's team projects while developing and documenting all processes Provide guidance on local requirements to ensure they are effectively incorporated into accounting global processes Execute and/or support any special projects What you'll need Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, Masters or CPA preferred 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role as part of a global multi-national company with experience leading small teams Strong knowledge and understanding of Spanish GAAP Accounting Standards, good understanding of US GAAP, and knowledge of Spain VAT and Indirect Tax Rules Strong analytic skills especially for identifying root causes of problems Highly skilled at organization and time management including prioritization of competing priorities Fluent Spanish and excellent English skills Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills Excellent ability to understand, document and improve business processes Experience supporting business unit line management in financial/advisory role Ability to work autonomously, decision-making experience around complex issues Growth Mindset: champions and inspires others to change, drives and leads change Fosters long-term learning and development with focus on ensuring the right people are doing the right things Provides inspirational leadership by communicating vision for the team What You Will Get In addition to an outstanding work environment with rapid advancement potential, Gartner associates enjoy exceptional compensation and benefits, including: An upbeat, positive culture Integrity, objectivity, collaboration, results and a no-limits mindset are central to our values Limitless growth.
