For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated colleague who loves a fast-paced challenging environment and international contacts.
As an Assistant Consolidation & Accounting Controller, you'll join our team in Madrid and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting various financial activities within the organisation. The key responsibilities include active participation in the month-end close process, supporting audits, preparation of group consolidated accounts, driving improvements in automation and processes.
WHERE YOU'LL THRIVE
Month-End Close Process:
Actively participate in the month-end close process.
Ensure precise financial reporting by uploading data from the ERP system into the management consolidation tool.
Ensure correctness of data mapping and completeness of data upload
Communicate with local teams to resolve discrepancies in mapping.
Audit Support:
Engage in both group and statutory audits.
Collect and organize the information required for statutory audits.
Follow up on audit completions to ensure compliance.
Assist in the preparation of group consolidated accounts within specified deadlines.
Process Improvement:
Implement improvements in reporting, processes, and automation.
Analyse systems and situations to enhance routine processes.
Provide assistance to any member of the finance team as required.
Work collaboratively within the finance team to achieve common goals.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Strong technical and analytical skills for accurate financial analysis.
Background in accounting/finance, preferably with experience in reporting and consolidation techniques, with 2years of experience.
Ability to work effectively with short deadlines.
Proactive in analysing systems and situations, eager to implement improvements.
Accurate with an eye for detail in financial reporting.
Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Strong problem-solving skills to address financial challenges.
Proficient in MS Office 365, with excellent Excel skills. Knowledge of Sigma is a plus.
Fluent in English – oral and written.
Willing to travel to our HQ in Brussels monthly or bi-monthly.
Onboarding period will take place in HQ in Brussels.
