Additionally, we are Whistler's largest conference resort hotel, offering 5 unique dining outlets, a slope-side Health Club, and 519 guestrooms and suites.Job DescriptionAssistant Accounting ManagerThe Finance Department of Fairmont Chateau Whistler is looking for a dynamic, organized and collaborative team player who is passionate about coaching and developing the general ledger accounting team.Salary Range: $71,000 - $75,000, dependent on experienceJob Duties Include:Proficiency in full cycle general accounting process workflow including month end close and financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, Accounts Payable, General Cashiering, Banking/Treasury.Supervise the daily general accounting operation.Provide administrative support to Management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational business support.Responsible for the company's general ledger transactions and bookkeeping.Preparation of monthly journal.Assist the finance leadership to prepare variance analysis, monthly profit and loss statement preparation and report on the business to senior finance leadership.Verify the accuracy of all Income Audit transactions, banking and ensure daily revenue and rebate summary is reconciled.Assist in the integration of hotel and accounting technology systems.Complete and verify account analysis for all Food and Beverage inventories and expense valuation.Assist in safe keeping of all lease and contracts and any other legal records and documents, which may affect the financial status of the hotel.QualificationsDegree in Business, Finance/Accounting, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.2+ years progressive work-related experience in accounting, and previous hotel experience at a supervisory/managerial level an asset.Demonstrated experience with accounting systems and Opera PMS an asset.Computer literate in Microsoft Windows and Office required.Job Perks & Benefits:Subsidized staff accommodation provided.Complimentary meal in our staff cafeteria per shift.Access to our Employee Travel Program, with discounts on room rates and food & beverage at Fairmont & Accor properties worldwide.Hotel leisure benefits including Golf/Ski passes.Additional InformationVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
