Our Mobility segment is currently seeking a Lead Supplier Development Engineer for the Casting & Machining commodity.
Main responsibilities: Works closely with the global SDE teams to support new supplier sourcing with onsite quality/technical assessments based on Eaton audit forms and VDA, AIAG CQI standards.Lead high-risk supplier APQP process and assure flawless launch and on-time PPAP delivery.Support error proofing in early APQP stage through design & manufacturability reviews.Lead initial supplier orientation including early APQP Supplier Training Program.Monitor supplier risk & performance using lagging and leading indicators.
Drive systemic quality improvements across dedicated commodity.Coordinate and execute supplier onsite and remote audit plans.Support development of dedicated supplier commodity strategy with cross-functional team.Work collaboratively with Eaton functions and suppliers on quality, delivery improvement programs using lean best practices and VAVE approach.Drive problem solving on High Impact supplier complaints.Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Quality or Operations Management from a nationally accredited institution.Minimum 3-year experience using quality tools & methodologies (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, Problem solving, 8D, A3, Ishikawa, 5 why, supplier onsite auditing).Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes.Subject matter expert for casting & machining commodity.Deep knowledge of metallurgy and material engineering.Certified auditor - VDA6.3.Certified auditor - IATF.MBA or other advanced degree.Working toward or certified Six Sigma Green Belt.Skills: Ability to work cross-functionally, think strategically.Ability to communicate in English as a primary/secondary language.Strong interpersonal and planning skills with proven ability to lead change through both direct and indirect (influencing) abilities.Ability to operate with a wide attitude for actions and recommendations which support the business regionally.Ability to deploy strategic quality/development improvements for the region.Ability to assess organizational capability.
