An Architectural Building Specialist in an LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project, particularly in Germany, serving as part of the Owner's Engineer team, has a range of responsibilities. The primary role involves overseeing and ensuring that the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors adhere to project specifications, standards, and regulations.Roles and ResponsibilitiesDesign Review and CoordinationDesign Oversight: Review and approve architectural designs, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil, HVAC, etc.) to ensure architectural aspects are integrated seamlessly.Quality Control: Verify that design and materials meet quality standards and project requirements.Construction SupervisionSite Monitoring: Regularly inspect construction activities related to architectural elements, ensuring they are in accordance with approved designs and specifications.Compliance Checks: Ensure the EPC contractors comply with building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental laws.Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve design and construction issues that arise, providing technical support and guidance to contractors.Project Management SupportSchedule and Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of architectural work against the project schedule, identifying potential delays and working with the EPC contractor to mitigate them.Resource Management: Monitor the allocation of resources, including materials and manpower, to ensure efficient use and avoid delays.Claims and Change Management Control: Review and approval/rejection of EPC Contractor claims and variations.Quality Assurance and ControlInspection and Testing: Oversee the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes, including inspections and testing of architectural components.Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of inspections, tests, and any modifications or deviations from the original design.Communication and ReportingLiaison Role: Act as a liaison between the owner, EPC contractor, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of architectural works, including progress updates, issues identified, and solutions implemented.Meetings: Participate in project meetings, including coordination meetings, progress meetings, and safety meetings.Regulatory Compliance and PermittingPermitting Assistance: Support the acquisition of necessary permits and ensure all architectural works comply with local and national building codes and regulations.Environmental Compliance: Ensure that the architectural aspects of the project meet environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
