To further develop and grow this ambition we are looking for an Area Production Manager, located in Murcia, Spain.
Your Job In this job you will be in charge of the seed production for the crops in Spain, Murcia Area. You execute and monitor the allocated production orders (stock seed and commercial seed) to secure the timely availability of the requested quantity and quality. You will manage, monitor and provide advice relating to the specific agricultural aspects of the seed production. Quality and timely manner will be your main focus all along your daily tasks. You will be managing the local team and deliver input to the operations strategy.
Based on the crop strategy, you will plan, maintain & develop or adapt the region/country's seed production infrastructure You will advise the relevant stakeholders on the produce-ability of the new varieties to be introduced in the companies' commercial portfolio Based on the needs of the production strategy maintain or adapt the local production infrastructure utilizing own facilities or the executing contracts with growers or 3rd parties Advise the Global Production Specialist regarding acceptance and/or rejection of lots delivered by our suppliers to ensure the highest quality seed supply Monitor budget and Head Count planning to maintain production infrastructure Advise growers on proper crop management to meet the sales demand Monitor & review quality in all aspects of the crop including rogueing, the supervision of pollination, chemical application and harvesting Communication and reporting on progress of ongoing productions. Give input to the production strategy Ensure proper field inspections, certification and timely shipping of seeds Establish and maintain a reliable grower base & relationship by continuous evaluation of performance Manage the area production team Your Profile Bachelor's in agriculture related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in seed production and knowledge of seed processing technologies Strong communication skills, both verbally and written (Spanish & English) Digital mindset. Understanding of importance of good tools and the power of data You have proven managerial skills Do you recognize yourself in the following competencies and skills? Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders Self-motivated, innovative and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment Solution-driven, with attention to detail and quality Interested in this job? You will be successful in this position when you are able to meet quantity, quality and timeliness of seed produced. Deliver adequate and timely reports to the Global Production Specialist and keep system information accurate and up-to-date.
Up to date production infrastructure contributing to the margin objectives, including supplier and grower management strategies.
