About the Role
The SWE Head of L&S Procurement oversees procurement spend for Spain, France, Portugal, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco (SWE) and supports the company's ambitious commercial growth objectives. This role involves managing and developing the procurement team, collaborating closely with Maersk's Product team, Transported by Maersk (Tb M), Contract Logistics Delivery Teams, and the commercial organization to drive organizational transformation and support our growth journey.
Key Responsibilities Manage the Area Procurement team including team members sitting in several different offices across the Area.Work closely in a Matrix organization that involves harmonizing Area procurement efforts and working closely with the regional procurement manager plus the Centre Procurement teams in close collaboration.Partner with the Area Product, Sales, Service Delivery and finance teams on long term game plans mapping Joint Cost Plan initiatives across the area organisation, including growth projects and ensure alignment between costs, commercial needs, customer experience and operational execution.Lead negotiations, hold senior supplier relationships, and coordinate the right Service Level Agreements between Maersk and its partners.Accountable for integrating Maersk Contract Management frameworks to help ensure compliance and best in class supplier performance.Drive a strong digital footprint in collaboration with the digital procurement team and ensure that this is translated in our engagement with the way we work with our suppliers and Area business plans.Perform continuous improvement on supplier market analytics, organizing market intelligence and creating a competitive edge for Maersk book of business through creating effective supply chains through our suppliers.Cooperate closely with colleagues between the Area and the Ocean set up in the Area/Region.Maintain and grow the relationship with product, commercial and area directors and support regional strategy through the area plans. What we are looking for Extensive experience in supply chain management, contract and lead logistics, land and intermodal transportation, warehousing and distribution, 3PL/4PL, fulfillment services, and procurement. Additionally, strong leadership skills, digital expertise, market knowledge, and awareness of cost drivers are essential.A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.Direct Leadership experience.Willingness to work in a fast paced and often ambiguous environment.Ability to constructively challenge and bring change to drive value for the business and cost out initiatives to ensure that we are top quartile in the markets we operate.High proficiency working with Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Word, Power BI and ERP.Possess an ability to manage many stakeholders at different levels of seniority, both within and outside the Maersk organization.Ability to forge strong vendor relationships within the scope of authority, and ability to develop strategic supplier relationship management programs.Teamwork and collaboration are natural behaviors.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Work well under pressure & short timelines.A candidate with exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills.Fluency in Spanish & English. French skills also an advantage.Ability to travel to strategic vendor sites, owned assets and other areas of strategic relevance.
