We are looking for an Application Engineer in Barcelona.
About the job: The Application Engineer will play a crucial role in advancing our additive manufacturing capabilities, with a primary focus on Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) and Directed Energy Deposition (DED). The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in additive manufacturing, knowledge of subtractive methods, and proficiency in inspection and scanning technologies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, support product development, and ensure high-quality manufacturing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: Additive Manufacturing Expertise:
Lead the development and optimization of additive manufacturing processes, particularly in L-PBF and DED, using a variety of feedstock materials and heat sources.
Collaborate on designing and refining parts to maximize the advantages of additive manufacturing while maintaining quality and performance standards.Process Development and Optimization:
Implement process improvements in both additive and subtractive manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration and optimal workflows.
Develop and test process parameters to enhance performance, material efficiency, and overall product quality.Inspection and Quality Control:
Utilize non-destructive testing methods, including CT scanning, 3D scanning, and other inspection technologies, to evaluate and validate part quality.
Analyze and interpret data from inspection processes to identify and address any potential issues.Technical Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and quality assurance records.
Communicate findings, updates, and recommendations effectively to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.Customer and Internal Support:
Provide technical expertise and support to customers, addressing inquiries and offering solutions related to additive and subtractive manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with R&D and production teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.What you need to be successful: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in additive manufacturing, with a strong focus on L-PBF and DED.Proficiency in subtractive manufacturing methods and processes.Knowledge of inspection and quality control techniques, particularly in CT scan methodologies, 3D scanning, and non-destructive testing.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with various feedstocks and heat sources for additive manufacturing.Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.Certification in quality control or inspection techniques is a plus.If you're enthusiastic about this role but your prior experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification mentioned in the job description, we still strongly encourage you to apply.
