As a high-level product technology expert, provides best technical consulting and solutions for customer applications to the sales teams independent of the industry segments with a strong focus on technologies. Takes commercial considerations fully into account when proposing solutions. Has turnover responsibility but not customer responsibility. Detailed technical proposals of application-based solutions in the Pre-Sales phase.
Key tasks:
Onsite customer support for prototype startups in order to do 'proof of concept', good working knowledge of third-party PLC software, network configuration, and device integration coverage including product sizing and selection.
Main interface to Concept Engineer (Customer/Festo) (pre-defining technical concepts) and technical support engineer.
Discuss technical proposals to optimize machine performance with a strong focus to increase component sales.
Provides on-site technical product training for customers during the installation.
Provides technical support to sales and customers on applications independent of the industry segments.
Focus on commercial (cost of ownership) and technical feasibility of proposals, based on deep technical product knowledge.
Proposes component and system-based solutions, mainly on standard products, in accordance with the regulations (Machinery Directive, etc.).
Creates technical solutions taking all relevant technical interfaces into consideration.
During the pre-sales phase acts as technical product expert, in close coordination with the sales engineer.
Provides best practices (i.e., application notes) for multiplication of standard applications as well as lessons learned for further improvement to win next opportunities.
Supports and provides ISM and BU with product gaps as input and supports in questions of norms and regulations.
Identify and win projects based on excellent product and application knowledge. Support commissioning of the project at customer site in close alignment with the technical support engineer.
