This is a part-time role that may require filling in on weekends - Saturdays and Sundays, including but not limited to Public Holidays.Job DescriptionOur Ambassador will be:Assisting the Maintenance Manager to maintain, using safe working practices, the building, plant, equipment, fixtures, and fittings to protect the asset and ensure it remains a functional, pleasant, and safe environment for all guests, contractors, visitors, and other employees.Assisting the Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day operation of the maintenance requirements of the hotel including pool, spa, and water feature pump and motors, automatic chemical dispensers, VSD motors and control, Saflok electronic door lock, storm water and sewerage pump and controls, chillers and air handling units and controls, and Movielink system.Completing daily plant rounds and noting for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.Carrying out maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation to ensure acceptable availability and reliability.Assisting in keeping up-to-date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment.Completing daily rounds and signing off any relevant section of the Maintenance Manuals.Liaising with the Maintenance Manager regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out-of-order areas of the hotel are brought back to use as soon as possible.Completing all tasks where possible within a 15-minute time frame of receiving the request.Reporting back to the Manager on Duty or Front Office the completion or delay of any task that is guest related.Suggesting any improvements that could be made to improve existing service or procedures, logging and informing the Department Manager of any service or system problems.QualificationsAt least 1 year of experience in Maintenance or a similar industry; ideally in the hotel/tourism industry, however, not required. Trade qualification is preferred but not essential. Working knowledge of building compliance, risk management, and a passion for environmental sustainability
