As a Business Development Manager, you are tasked to proactively and independently expand South Pole's consultancy business in your region, and in line with regional and individual business development targets. Main tasks & responsibilities: As a Business Development Manager you are responsible for expanding South Pole's customer base for our consultancy services in your region. Generate target lists, identify new growth accounts, onboard them on the Climate Journey, and set the Account Plan for long term customer satisfaction. Translate complex customer needs to cross-practice offerings. Give input on value based pricing Together with Consultants develop strategic pricing approaches for product pitches Build & maintain a healthy pipeline for advisory solutions. Proactively engage in business development activities such as in-person meetings, conferences, events, webinars, and summits to represent the company and position South Pole in the region in line with budget and policies. You will be developing the Go to Market strategy for Advisory services in your region, in close collaboration with the Regional Head of Advisory, the Sales Director, and senior consultants from the different practices. Partner with the solutions expert teams to define, shape, and position our solutions and evaluate the relevance, effectiveness, and viability of product/service offerings through customer feedback or market research and proactively inform relevant internal team. This role is expected to provide strategic market insights for colleagues in the Practices and Regional Leadership, as well as external partners. Stay on top of climate trends and develop in-depth knowledge of competitors, clients, and market dynamics to better demonstrate the superiority of our climate solutions in terms of quality and credibility attributes and benefits for our clients. Share across external and internal teams ensuring a smooth client experience and confidence to convince senior directors (internal and external) to make revenue-generating decisions. Identify new customer needs for further product development. As Business Development Manager you will play a key role in supporting consultants with Key Account Management responsibilities, Account Plans, and reaching the overall sales target of the region. Identify opportunities for cross selling within advisory solutions (across practices) as well as certificates solutions by actively handing over those opportunities to your fellow CAC Sales team members. You will be incentivized to do so by having cross sells being incentivized by the STI2024 Manage client meetings in close collaboration with the expert teams, lead prospect conversations, contract negotiations, and close deals with strategic prospects. In the longer term, you are encouraged to contribute to the implementation of client mandates to better understand and integrate more with our advisory services. Requirements: Essential - University degree in Sustainability and/or Business related discipline At least 5 years of proven business development and sales experience with a high preference in the sustainability field (renewable energy or carbon markets), corporate responsibility, sustainable development and/or climate change) Track record in meeting and exceeding sales targets Understanding of the business drivers behind corporate climate actions and initiatives (eg SBT, RE100, carbon neutrality) and the ability to formulate a business case Strong drive for results, action-oriented, with self-direction and sense of urgency Demonstrable commercial skills and good business sense so as to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment. Ability to challenge the status quo and think out of the box Critical thinking and decision-making skills with strong business and commercial acumen Ability to successfully navigate complexity and effectively deal with ambiguity Excellent English skills, any other languages is a plus Excellent communication and presentation skills Entrepreneurial mindset, sense of responsibility and willingness to take initiative Desirable - Outstanding leadership skills, with the ability to inspire action and get the best out of people Advanced prioritisation and time management skills.
