Experimental Surgery Unit (ESU) VHIR offers a caretaker position for the Experimental Surgery Unit (ESU). ESU belongs to the VHIR pre-clinical core-facilities and their expertise includes: preclinical animal models (pig, sheep, and rabbit) for research and teaching purposes, anesthesia, analgesia and resuscitation protocols, and pre and post-operative animal care and welfare. ESU offers integral preclinical imaging services, ethics committee assistance, has an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification, and Certification AAALAC - Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care. VHIR Core Facilities provide services to the scientific community to access specialized services of preclinical and clinical models of human diseases. JOB DESCRIPTIONEducation and qualifications: Required: Secondary School certificate or High-school Diploma. Hold the accreditations according to the Ministerial Order ECC/566/2015, of 20th March and to Directive 2010/63/EU.Desired: Basic IT skills.Experience and knowledge: Required: Previous experience in management of rabbits, sheep, and pigs. Previous experience in experimental surgeries.Main responsibilities and duties: Labour conditions: Part-time contract: 30 hours/week. Possibility of working additional hours on weekends and days off (within legal limits). Starting date: immediate. Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale. Contract: Permanent.
