About the role The Android Developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the MiVodafone mobile application features on the Android platform, ensuring its quality, stability, and optimal performance. The role includes the implementation of business-prioritized functional changes, technical developments specific to the platform, resolution of quality and security issues, and management of deployments in the Google Play Store. The position requires active collaboration with the development team and performing code reviews to ensure efficient development aligned with best practices.
As an Android Developer, you´ll be in charge of the following accountabilities:
Implement new features and perform continuous improvements based on business requirements. Fix bugs and ensure the stability and performance of the application. Perform app updates to align with new Android versions and ensure compatibility across multiple devices. Review and resolve warnings, security gaps, and issues identified in SonarQube. Implement secure development practices and perform code refactoring when necessary. Conduct PR reviews to ensure quality standards are met and perform merges of changes. Generate application builds and validate that versions meet requirements prior to deployment. Coordinate the deployment process of new versions on the Google Play Store, ensuring correct functionality and compliance with store policies. Keep technical documentation for the app and deployment processes up to date. Collaborate in the automation of build and deployment processes to optimize delivery times. Propose and implement improvements to the app's architecture and design. Monitor performance and quality metrics to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with the QA team to ensure test coverage and the overall quality of the product. What do we need? Minimum 3 years of experience in Android development with Kotlin and Java. Solid knowledge of the Android SDK and the mobile application lifecycle. Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and experience in managing PRs. Experience in build automation and deployments on Google Play. Familiarity with code analysis and quality tools (SonarQube) for issue identification and resolution. Knowledge of CI/CD for continuous integration and deployment (Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Telecommunications, or a related field. Android development certifications (optional, but a plus). Previous experience in Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban).
