The Category Leader is the highest authority within the purchasing department for a specific category. This role focuses on developing and overseeing the long-term strategy for the category, ensuring it aligns with the overall business objectives. We are looking for an Analytical Instruments Category Lead, who will give support to the Diagnostic division (instruments and reagents). What your responsibilities will be Develop long-term strategic plans for the category. Ensure alignment of category strategy with business goals. Manage relationships with key suppliers. Identify and capitalize on opportunities for improvement and efficiency. Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly. Lead and mentor the category management team. Develop and manage category budgets. Coordinate with other departments to integrate category strategies. Main Tasks Strategy Development: Formulate and implement category strategies. Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to inform strategic decisions. Performance Monitoring: Track category performance against KPIs. Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports on category performance for senior management. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans. Training: Conduct training sessions for team members on best practices and new strategies.
