The SCC is grounded in our four pillars: Respect, Listen, Understand, Communicate.What is the opportunityReporting to the Lead Analyst and working closely with the Sharing the Stories team, the Students Commission of Canada (SCC) is looking for an Analyst to support the quantitative analysis of data we collect through our Sharing the Stories (StS) platform.
The Analyst will also be responsible for knowledge gathering and authoring/reviewing reports.
As a research and evaluation platform, Sharing the Stories collects participant data through surveys, focus groups, and arts-based methods.
Some data is collected through our online platform, and some through the use of paper surveys, art, audio, and video.The SCC is a small but committed team, where everyone jumps in to help with other projects and tasks as required for the success of the organization and the betterment of young people's lives.About the RoleWhat will you doAnalysis: Conducting quantitative analysis using SPSS/Jamovi software; conducting analyses of primary and secondary sources of data, for example to develop literature reviews, environmental scans, and strategies.Interpreting data: Making sense of the data and capturing the meaning of the story that the data is showing.Knowledge gathering: Conducting article searches, interviews and environmental/practice scans, often in partnership with other SCC team members, CEYE members, and members of government ministries and institutions.Quality assurance: Reviewing reports for quality, specifically accuracy and accessibility, and editing/proofreading documents for release to clients.Sharing Learning: Engaging with the StS team, CEYE, and other Students Commission colleagues, as well as external stakeholders, to share your learnings, which may include facilitating at events/meetings.What do you need to succeedCES Credentialed Evaluator (CE) Designation considered an asset.Basic understanding of research and evaluation within the context of program delivery.Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis with exposure to SPSS/Jamovi software.Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word etc.
).Tech-savvy - comfortable learning, navigating, and troubleshooting new technology and graphics software.Excellent writing skills, to be able to explain complex information in a clear and concise way.
Bilingual is an asset.Self-driven, organized and able to multi-task and context-switch, excited about being a part of a team and motivated by team success.Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
