Eurovision Technology Hub is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant for the back office and support services team in Madrid.
The incumbent will be responsible for the Accounts Payable operations for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and its subsidiary Eurovision Services (ES).
He/She will join the team at our Tech Hub in Madrid, Spain.
**ABOUT THE EBU FINANCE DEPARTMENT**The Finance Department serves all EBU and ES departments in preparing, executing, analysing, controlling and advising on all matters related to administration and finance related matters.Reporting to the EBU Senior Manager of Accounting and Controlling located in Geneva, the AP Accountant will be responsible for both procure-to-pay and invoice-to-cash processes.
The finance team manages all aspects of the financial reporting (statutory and analytical), the maintenance of an accurate Internal Control System, the preparation of financial statements (both statutory and consolidated) and the management of the relationship with financial auditors.
**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION**In this role as AP Accountant, you will:- Be responsible for the daily management of accounts payable- Manage the suppliers' data base in the ERP system and the bank details, ensuring data accuracy- Capture and process suppliers' invoices in the ERP system, following corporate payment terms- Ensure that finance internal controls are performed for suppliers' invoices- Answer any internal or external requests in relation with suppliers' invoices- Match invoices with POs in the ERP system- Manage, process and reconcile travel expenses- Reconcile accounts payable and General Ledger (GL) accounts/modules- Monitor and reconcile transitory accounts for suppliers or personnel- Record all accounting transactions in relation to international VAT- Check and validate all expense reports in compliance with internal policies- Book all accounting entries related to expense reports and travel agency invoices (hotels, planes) and control the quality of analytical data- Process payments of expense reports**YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**- At least 2 years of broad-based financial experience- Strong collaboration, influencing and communication skills- The ability to interact with ease, confidence and credibility at all levels within and outside the company- A proactive approach and the ability to build consensus- Strong business acumen, including negotiation skills- The ability to adapt to and drive changing demands and conditions- Experience in managing a small team- A flexible can-do attitude and the ability to work independently with limited supervision- Fluency in English**ADDED VALUE**Additional experience in the following areas would be a bonus:- Working with geographically distributed and international teams (our headquarters are located in Switzerland)- French language knowledge- A solid understanding of Spanish tax, VAT, social security and pension legislation**Perhaps you are missing some of the listed skills and required experience, but you are **self-motivated and eager to learn?
