Responsibilities Primary interface with the Airworthiness Authorities
Define the approach to achieving certification of a large UAV using ARP-4754a and ARP-4761 or CS-23/CS-25
Define, release and execute the Airworthiness Plans and Processes
Propose the Airworthiness Basis and its compliance matrix for the different Programs
Lead the collection and review of required artifacts to be used to show compliance with the airworthiness basis
Define and review the list of required artifacts in support of the relevant airworthiness process
Review and approve supplier artifacts in support of system-level certification
Achieve certifications in DO-178C, DO-254, TSO, ARP-4761, CS-23, CS-25 and similar as appropriate
Define and release the corresponding Declaration of Airworthiness needed for the obtention of the experimental certificates
Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related Field
Experience in leading certification of a system to common aerospace standards
Experience as the lead engineer on the development of a certified component
Detailed knowledge of general aviation legislation
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Engineering or Related Field
Past connections with a certification/airworthiness authority (EASA, AESA, others)
Experience in leading the certification or airworthiness approval of a UAV system
Experience as the lead engineer for a certified system
Interface directly and maintain contact with certification authorities (EASA, AESA, others)
Work experience in a DOA organization
Experience in Systems Engineering and Model based Engineering; decomposing and allocating system requirements to subsystems and items
