We need someone who understands the meaning of language and how to model its logic.
The ideal candidate should be able to explain complex concepts to both humans and machines.
Knowledge of ontology and epistemology (as per metaphysics) is highly desired, along with a broad curiosity about how information is delivered and understood symbolically.
We are currently looking to expand our Science team.
The ideal Scientist has a thorough understanding of the proprietary technology we are currently developing and is able to: Conduct research on theoretical and practical issues in natural language reasoning.
Coordinate with the linguist team on issues relating to ontology development.
Coordinate with the software engineering team on issues relating to algorithm implementation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Master's or higher degree in a relevant field (AI, CS, NLP, Computational Linguistics).
2+ years experience in developing NLP, and/or 4+ years experience in related fields, such as formal semantics, computational linguistics, or logic.
Experience with ontology engineering and superb algorithm design skills.
Fluency in English (knowledge of Korean, Thai, or Chinese is a plus, but not required).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Expertise in building ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic networks.
Knowledge of Python, Lisp, or another scripting language.
Expertise in general linguistics and syntactic theories.
Expertise in statistical language modelling.
Experience with existing ontologies such as Cyc or SUMO.
Condition for Employment Work remotely but willing to travel to Seoul every two months for 6-8 weeks, or perhaps more often/a bit longer (once the COVID pandemic is under control).
We will provide a relocation package if you want to relocate to Seoul (we will sponsor the working visa).
