The i2CAT Foundation is looking for an AI engineer who is willing to get involved in exciting Research and Innovation projects in the framework of Horizon Europe and the Catalan and Spanish research programs.
Our team is an active player in the European research ecosystem and participates as partners or subcontractors in other RD projects.
Our area also offers professional services to relevant industry and SMEs.
Projects INTEGRA - An applied research project where i2CAT collaborates with other research centers to develop new technologies for the autonomous and connected vehicle.
The new researcher will work on investigating and developing new methods for detection and tracking of vehicles from video images.
IoTNGIN - An H2020 project that introduces new research and innovation concepts to fuel the next generation of IoT as part of the European next generation internet.
The new researcher will work in a use case of the project that demonstrates how an Ambient Intelligence environment can prevent accidents in a smart factory.
Responsibilities Participate in technological developments of RD solutions.
Implement deep learning models for object detection and tracking.
Research new algorithms for object detection and tracking.
Analyze and discuss technical requirements with clients and end users.
Participate in writing and editing documents and deliverables associated with the projects.
Participate in writing and editing new research project proposals.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Artificial Intelligence area and other research areas to deliver a proof of concept and documentation of the product that meets the desired standards.

Minimum Requirements Degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent.
Deep knowledge of AI, Data Analytics, and Mathematical Modelling techniques.
Practical knowledge of Computer Vision and Machine Learning.
Knowledge of data engineering.
Analytical mindset capable of proposing solutions to new and known problems and conducting research proactively.
Proven experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Python or C++.
Good English skills.
