About the role: We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join their team. You will be a part of an AI Engineering team focused on GenAI infrastructure and applications. This team is responsible for delivering on company's GenAI strategy by providing infrastructure for other teams to use and building zero to one point solutions for others to adopt in their applications. You are expected to use software engineering best practices adapted to a non-deterministic technology, Generative AI, which will require flexibility while maintaining high standards of reliability. While the goals are clear, how they get there can be ambiguous with emerging technologies requiring you to be creative in your problem solving.
This role reports to the AI Engineering Manager within the Data organization. Data is centralized within the company and provides solutions for all of their applications and business to utilize.
What you will do: Architect and implement innovative GenAI based solutions. Cultivate high standards for communication, ownership, and quality while executing asynchronously. Work with a distributed engineering team across multiple time zones/countries. Ensure tasks are transparent, organized, on schedule and expectations are managed. Partner with other technical leaders to refine and deliver on their GenAI strategy. Be a strong voice of clarity in a world of a growing startup, and help your colleagues function when faced with ambiguity. Conduct and facilitate code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to standards. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, driving continuous improvement in development processes. About you 4+ years of experience building applications as an engineer. Strong experience with Java, Python, distributed systems design (microservices), and data assets. Experience building AI applications, ideally GenAI based utilizing Agents, RAG and LLMs. Experience building applications using AWS infrastructure. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Deep understanding of Processes, and how to build and iterate within a high-performing team. Ability to understand, diagnose, and effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions. Proficient with VCS (Git), CI/CD pipelines and Change Management (JIRA). Adaptable in applying software best practices to non-deterministic solutions. Conditions: Fluent in English. An independent engineer (not associated with an agency) with the ability to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Committed to being available until noon Pacific Time (not necessarily working but responsive on Slack and attending occasional meetings). A camera and microphone are required for interviews and further team meetings/discussions. Remote position, collaborating with a distributed team of engineers across the Americas and Eurasia.
