Interested applicants should possess technical proficiency and practical experience in the disciplinary areas they intend to teach and hold a Ph.D. degree or an M.S. degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.Production Systems Course Topics:The course will provide insight into designing and elements of executing a production system for diverse product sets. It will integrate a model-based approach through an Industry 4.0 lens into the production system elements. We will go over principles, method, and toolsets used in a multidisciplinary design of all aspects of a production system from design of a product to the delivery and sustainment of a product. Examples include a logistics system interacting with a manufacturing system, both interconnected with an information system, all converging on a physical site or facility that was designed to operate cooperatively to manufacture an end-product. You will be able to decompose the product and design intention to ensure manufacturing efficiency and producibility and drive results into the production system design.
