Consultant Physician in either Acute Medicine or Acute Medicine and another specialty ( Such as Infectious Diseases, Respiratory, Rheumatology, Medicine for the Elderly, Gastroenterology or Endocrinology). An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Physician to join us in providing high quality care to the adult population of Fife, working as part of the Acute Medicine team based within the Acute Medical, General Medical and Ambulatory Care units of the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. We are currently in the process of setting up a 16 chair Same Day Emergency Care Unit with an adjacent 15 trolley assessment area.
You will have appropriate SPA time, with the team open to discussion regarding areas of specialist interest (either clinical or non-clinical e.g. teaching). Applications from candidates with a medical subspecialty are welcome. If doing a 50:50 job you would spend half the time fully integrated into the appropriate speciality.
There is a commitment to the acute medical receiving on-call rota, currently on a 1:8 weekend rota and 1:28 weekday late rota.
