Daikin Europe NV (DENV) is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Limited, a leading global developer, producer, and supplier of HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration) solutions, including heating pumps and cooling technology.
DENV serves as Daikin's sales, R&D, and production headquarters for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with offices in Brussels, Ghent, and Ostend, along with 8 production plants and 24 sales subsidiaries across the EMEA region.
The financial activities of Daikin companies in the EMEA area are organized by the Daikin Europe Co-ordination Centre N.V. (DECC), which handles all aspects of finance, accounting, credit control, and corporate projects.
Job content
You are responsible for the closings of DENV, DECC, and some affiliates' books according to group standards (IFRS-J) and Belgian statutory rules.
You will follow up and monitor operational accounting tasks in our DENV Shared Service Centre and assist the team when necessary.
You will supervise workflow in relation to deadlines and evaluate existing systems and procedures to optimize day-to-day operations.
You will ensure the correctness of figures and procedures based on internal control procedures (according to J-Sox rules).
You will collaborate closely with internal and external auditors, as well as with the Finance, Corporate Planning, and Manufacturing Planning departments.
You will monitor closing activities and operational accounting activities of the DENV Shared Service Centre.
You will support colleagues in the accounting team during consolidation activities on the EMEA level, which may include control activities and reporting to our parent company.
You will be involved in various accounting-related projects from a headquarters perspective, including optimizing and harmonizing European reporting and valuation rules.
This role requires close collaboration with other headquarters departments and affiliates within the EMEA region.
Profile
You have a Master's degree, preferably in an economic or financial area.
You have 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position, or experience in a big 4 company, an accounting firm, or a controlling position.
You possess strong analytical skills and can maintain an overview in all situations.
You are skilled in presenting complex accounting topics clearly and effectively to senior management and internal stakeholders.
You are extroverted, communicative, and comfortable in formal situations.
As a team player, you take initiative, are eager to learn, and work efficiently.
A good knowledge of IFRS and Belgian GAAP is recommended.
Experience with SAP-FI and/or BW is an advantage.
You are fluent in English, and knowledge of another European language is an asset.
