Description ISP IBERIA Role Profile Accountant Location: Onsite St George School, Barcelona Purpose of Role The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, recording those into the financial software, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and preparing financial reports.
The Accountant reports into the Head of Finance, St George Barcelona and is a member of the school team.

ISP Accountant Key Responsibilities Accountancy: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, under Spanish GAAP and IFRS GAAP.
Manage accounts payable.
Coordinate the purchase ordering process for the school to ensure supplies and materials are delivered as needed.
Review and propose supplier invoices payments, to be approved by the Head of Finance.
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Record and reconcile taxes into the financial software (VAT, Withholding tax, SII report and Social Security).
Process month-end and year-end accounting.
Ensure month-end deadlines are met.
Ensure financial statements are accurately stated.
Coordinate the information flow with schools to secure the supplier information is received in time and through the official channels.
Monitor and record personal and company expenses, ensuring proper documentation.
Manage Capex module through the financial software and reconciliation within the accountancy.
Perform general ledger reconciliations and account analysis.
Support the preparation of monthly financial reports.
Assist with the audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Support financial budgeting and forecasting.
Ad hoc tasks and responsibilities, as required by the role.
School Partnering: Participate in review calls or face-to-face meetings with the Head of Finance, FP&A, AR team, and school management teams, to provide an overall understanding of matters impacting school performance against budgets, forecasts, and year-over performance.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Professional Qualified Accountant.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
Prior experience in using NetSuite/PBCS applications or any other ERP systems is advantageous.
Ability to build good working relationships with all members and levels of the organization.
A methodical, highly organized approach to the execution of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Positive, proactive, passionate, personable, results-oriented, ambitious professional, who is keen to progress within a global organization.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to deal with shifting priorities.
Experience dealing with external advisors (suppliers, auditors, tax, etc.).
Previous experience in a multinational environment is desirable.
Fluent written and spoken Spanish is required; English language skills are an advantage.
Ability to handle confidential information with maturity and discretion.
Capacity to take initiative and solve problems, supported by the Head of Finance.
Key Relationships To be successful in this position, the Accountant must build strong working relationships with the following groups: School Finance Team AR School Team Regional Finance Team Schools Administrative and SLT teams.
