Our client is a world-leading Industrial Gases company in operation for over 75 years and with operations in 50 countries. For their European Shared Services Center in Barcelona, they are looking for an Accountant.TasksBe a member of the Northern Continent Financial Accounting department and be responsible for all key compliance deadlines for subsidiaries in Germany and Austria.Prepare timely and accurate data in accordance with local GAAP requirements for external reporting to Tax Authorities and Auditors.Work on the timely monthly reporting for US GAAP in accordance with the Company's Month-end Closing schedule.Support the preparation of the local GAAP Statutory Accounts for the legal entities in the aforementioned countries, including the preparation of working papers and related schedules for the audit of the accounts to obtain a clean sign-off for the annual accounts by our auditor Deloitte.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis in line with company policy, ensuring all reconciliations are completed and filed correctly for the entities under scope.Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager for Northern and Southern Europe, set own priorities and work plan within the overall framework of the Financial accounting group and corporate deadlines.RequirementsKnowledge of German or Dutch GAAP and German or Dutch corporate taxes, including the preparation of annual financial statements.Working experience in a team.Ability to communicate effectively in a large multi-disciplined environment.Experience with SAP is considered an advantage.Fluency in both English and German or Dutch.BenefitsWe work in an environment where diversity is essential, inclusion is our culture, and each person knows they belong and matter.We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, a culture of respect, challenge, and innovation - with excellent opportunities for growth and development.We care about work-life balance, so you will have the possibility to work from home 3 days a week.
