TITLE: Accountant DEPARTMENT: Finance REPORTS TO: Chief Accounting Officer LOCATION: Madrid, Spain ROLE TYPE: Full time, Permanent, Hybrid Role Overview: As an Accountant you will be responsible for assisting with monthly general ledger accounting entries, which include, but are not limited to payroll, inventory, leases and accruals, bank and account reconciliations, monthly account variance explanations and reporting, as needed.
This position reports to the Manager, GL Accounting. Assist in the implementation of Oracle Cloud functionality for the purpose of automating and streamlining accounting processes. Prepare monthly journal entries to record accounting activity related to commissions, payroll, inventory, leases and accruals, as needed. Assist with general ledger activity questions for the consolidated and statutory audits as the need arises. Prepare monthly reconciliations related to material general ledger accounts. Complete a monthly fluctuation analysis and provide commentary related to the accounting results for the monthly reporting package. Continue to refine the monthly general ledger accounting process to increase efficiencies and improve controls. Assist with ad hoc projects and responsibilities as needed. Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role: Minimum Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting. 2-5 years of relevant experience from public accounting and/or multinational company. Oracle Cloud experience preferable but not required. Excellent knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. Detail-oriented with demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change. Strong Excel skills a plus. Fluent in English and Spanish. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR CV IN ENGLISH What's in It for You?
