We are looking for a new Accountant for our Valencia team; in this position you will be part of Mileway's Central Accounting team which belongs to the Investment Accounting department.
The new Central Functions Team will be an integral part of Mileway's Accounting operations as the owner of cross-jurisdictional operations such as bank reconciliations, invoice validations, accruals, etc.
As Accountant, working closely with the local Finance Manager and Senior Accountants, you will focus on daily bank reconciliations, invoices validation (classification, VAT treatment), tax tracking and support on period end accounting activities.
The role requires daily interaction with the local Manager, Senior Accountants as well as with the teams based in Luxembourg and London.
What you will do Perform daily recording of bank transactions, including clearing of suspense account; Invoice coding validation: relevant accounts and department classification, VAT treatment, transaction description; Booking of periodic accruals and lease arrangement fees amortization; Verification, allocation, posting and reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable; Reconciliations between General Ledger and Sub-ledger; Diligent application of Mileway's defined accounting policies and relevant GAAP principles; Preparation and posting of accounting entries for acquisitions; Regular accounting for fixed assets of transfer from WIP to completed works; Tax tracking activities: reviewing and storing tax documentation received, ensuring payments/refunds made across the structure are initiated in a timely manner.
What you will bring Min 3 years of experience within an accounting function; Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, such as Accounting, Business Administration or similar fields; Fluent in English; Good understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles; Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records; Experience handling large volumes of data; Advanced Excel Skills & MS Office; Experience in Yardi Voyager (desirable); Real Estate knowledge is a plus; Accuracy and attention to detail; Great sense of organization.
