Faraday's Syndicate 435 at Lloyd's underwrites Aviation, Casualty (North American Specialist Lines, Financial Lines, International Casualty and UK Liability Insurance), Property (Direct & Facultative and Treaty), Accident & Health, Agriculture and Energy.

Ten distinct teams underwrite a diverse range of risks worldwide both on an insurance and reinsurance basis, developing close and mutually supportive relationships with clients and brokers in our chosen markets.

Main purpose of the role We are currently offering an excellent opportunity for an Account Manager / Client Executive based in our Madrid Office.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a highly experienced team across Europe while starting a business operation for Faraday in the Spanish market.
The successful candidate will lead the sales and client relationship for the Spanish market.

You will be responsible for marketing, sourcing new business, detecting opportunities, structuring solutions, and transacting insurance business distributed via local brokers or MGAs.
This position offers a continuing variety of tasks; that includes creating and nurturing client relationships and developing expertise in all lines of P&C business.
You will be the principal relationship manager and will negotiate the transfer of risk and terms with the placement brokers.
The role requires you to develop a strong understanding of Faraday's appetite and guidelines and the development of an internal network necessary to adequately channel the opportunities for a successful outcome.

Key Responsibilities Underwriting: Grow a profitable portfolio of property excess of loss business. Underwrite and price individual risk and programme facultative reinsurance, with adherence to departmental underwriting philosophy, rules and guidelines, use of rating tools and pricing methodologies and documentation standards. Understand market pricing and market terms and conditions. Demonstrate a deep knowledge of contracts and policy forms, pricing structures, terms and conditions, topical underwriting issues. Directly communicate/negotiate terms and conditions with clients. Client Account Management Develop and maintain relationships with clients at the underwriting and management level. Understand treaty structures and facultative reinsurance buying patterns. Assume responsibility for assigned client relationship, including development and implementation of marketing plans. Actively seek new business opportunities within existing relationships and within the wider insurance market. Demonstrate awareness of broader industry issues and trends. Teamwork As appropriate, seek out/provide a quality second head on facultative risk transactions. Ensure teamwork within client, branch, cross-branch, cross-unit or project teams by contributing to a positive, supportive and disciplined environment. Participate in and contribute to training and coaching initiatives. Running the Business Participate in branch planning in support of department goals. Understand and utilise diagnostic reports, providing insights to colleagues. Ongoing information sharing and interaction with property facultative colleagues and other corporate departments. Adhere to established processing protocols. Endeavour to continuously improve departmental processes. Coordinate, participate in and lead various special projects for the branch. Qualifications & Experience This role would suit an energetic, forward-thinking, team player with experience in property insurance.

In addition, the following qualifications and attributes are desirable:

5+ years in client-facing positions with broker interaction. Knowledge of the Spanish insurance market. Network of insurance brokers. Understanding of most lines of P&C insurance. Experience in Property, Casualty or Marine underwriting is desirable. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people from all areas of the business. Interpersonal skills/critical thinking skills. Superior multi-tasking skills. Ability to extract and manipulate data proficiently. High degree of energy/tenacity. Entrepreneurship and sense of ownership. Spanish and English language proficiency essential. Accepting responsibility and accountability. Demonstrating a positive attitude and strong value system (e.g.
integrity, trustworthiness, respectful). Demonstrating a strong work ethic and a sense of urgency. Continuously improve own skills. Demonstrating organisational efficiency and time management skills.
