Summary: In this position you will drive strategy to identify and engage with accounts that are either potential new business opportunities or require ongoing nurturing through a multi-channel approach including telephone sales activity. Consistently delivering on the Company's strategy of managing active and prospective accounts by targeting timely and focused content to ensure meaningful relationships are developed. You will initiate a multi-channel strategy, and manage the quality and alignment of lead generation, ensuring all sales leads are qualified and verified prior to handover to Business Development. The role requires a disciplined approach of complex research, systematic decision making and strategy development, developing customer intimacy and a strong achievement orientation.
Essential Functions: Achieve or exceed assigned sales objectives. Analyze complex account and industry activity with the assistance of management and Business Intelligence (BI) to develop plans for a portfolio of accounts for specific market segments to drive engagement. Review ongoing plans through own analysis and when business needs and client needs change. Determine where adjustments may be required to deliver. Initiate and manage effective relationships with active and prospect clients in order to determine near and future clinical development needs; includes prioritizing accounts, engagement pathways and ongoing nurturing objectives. Maintain effective and meaningful relationships with developed leads on a continuous basis; participate with management in the development and implementation of engagement and targeted activity planning; work to an agreed coverage target. Deliver the Company's messaging on differentiators, effectively communicating this to clients; advance sales and engagement discussions through a thorough understanding of the client's challenges in business needs, and alignment to Company strengths. Document and monitor progress in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, including lead generation details, tracking contacts, and pertinent follow-up information. Initiate and prioritize use of internal and external data and technology to conduct research and monitor factors within accounts to assess a strategy for engagement to capitalize on opportunities. Establish and maintain an appropriate internal network for business needs, including but not limited to, Business Development and Business Units. Validate internally in Company and coordinate smooth transfer of Account Development clients to Business Development. Leverage all meetings and conferences with Business Development to generate leads and engagement with current and new accounts owned by Account Development or unassigned accounts. Participate in Business Development processes and meetings to ensure consistency and alignment to Business Development activity. Generate and analyze reports to manage Account Development metrics and KPIs. Qualifications BA/BS degree in a biological science, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-5 years of Inside Sales experience, Lead Generation, Customer Relationship development and management, predominantly via phone is required. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential (German is a plus). May have working knowledge of clinical development. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and voicemail. CRM skills in managing a customer relationship database beneficial. Effective written interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to conduct research using various online resources. A sales disposition and inquisitive problem-solving skills relating to diligently qualifying and researching clients. Above average attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills. Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines preferred. Ability to demonstrate persistence and achievement in hitting targets. Get to know Syneos Health
