Accelerated Genetics Research Specialist - Temporary Position Main Purpose The primary focus of the role is to support Cell Biology activities such as laboratory operations related to double haploid production. The role is also responsible for ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement across the different lab workflows.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities Support phytotron/greenhouse activities such as harvesting fresh material, disinfection, seed sowing, planting, seed screening, and pollination.Support the delivery of double haploid plants by executing technical in vitro activities. The main tasks will be explant planting and subcultures for solanaceous and cucurbits crops. Other secondary activities will include embryo harvest and regenerant transfer.Support preparation of media and stock solutions, glass washing, and autoclaving.Use of digital tools for data collection and report generation.Follow ESH, SOPs, regulations, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.Qualifications & Competencies BS/MS degree or FP/vocational training as Lab technician.Basic experience in tissue culture. Ability to work in the laboratory, under sterile conditions.Good organizational skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to balance multiple tasks and achieve deadlines.Good disposition for working in a collaborative team-based environment.Good knowledge of MS Office and software systems used in scientific data analysis, with the ability to quickly learn new software programs and tools.English written and spoken at entry or intermediate level.Application Period: 15 days
