The holder of this full-time permanent position will manage the library of the NYU Madrid site and assist and support the academic team on the planning, staffing, and execution of co-curricular events. Reports day-to-day to the senior coordinator, academics.

Qualifications: Principal DutiesManage The NYU Madrid Library (50%)
- Manage the library collection
- Assist students and professors in the library
- Oversee acquisition of new materials, fielding and evaluating requests from students and the teaching staff
- Provide personalized guidance to individual students working on research projects
- Participate in the selection and supervision of a library intern.Help Plan, Staff And Execute Co-Curricular Activities (40%)
- In collaboration with the academic team and faculty members, help plan, staff, and execute co-curricular activities, particularly those involving, but not limited to, the holdings of the library (books, films, databases, etc.). Examples of such activities include visits to city resources (biblioteca nacional, archivo municipal, filmoteca, etc.), book presentations, film series, etc.Faculty Outreach (5%)
- Produce a periodical report (once per semester, etc.) for faculty and library users on resources, innovations, programming, etc.
- Organize and lead a periodical workshop (once per semester, etc.) for faculty and library users on specific aspects of NYU Madrid's resources for teaching and research.Budgeting, Financial Reporting, Etc (5%)
- Coordinate budget planning and reporting with the administration department. Required Education:
- BA, BS or equivalent, preferably in library sciences
- MA or equivalent in the social sciences or humanities, a plus
Required Experience:
- Library management, experience with appropriate software (e.g., gbwin32) and platforms
- Curation of cultural/academic events
- Classroom experience with international undergraduates a plus
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented. Proven cultural sensitivity and conversational skills to communicate appropriately with a multinational, multicultural, and multireligious community of students and colleagues.
- Thorough knowledge of standard office software including Microsoft Office Suite and online and traditional packages (e.g., Google Docs). Fluent in English and Spanish (written and oral).
- Thorough familiarity with learning management systems and other software related to teaching and research
- Strong team worker
- Legally eligible to work in Spain.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of NYU, its values and vision. Experience with US students abroad is a definite plus.
