TasksWe are looking for an Aero Engine Lead Engineer to join our team.
You will be primarily responsible for the development of the conversion of existing kerosene aeroengines into hydrogen fuel engines which will propel a new class of near-space vehicles on their mission.
To own the design and the architecture of the H2 fueled, modified aeroengine, and define the requirements of the main sub-assemblies.To architect, design and implement changes to make the engine H2 compatible, mastering the involved technologies.Identify the components to be modified and how they need to be modified to convert the engine to hydrogen as fuel.Follow the design process, use of PLM and recording of modifications.Own the design, manufacture assembly and installation of the modified components, into the selected air breathing engine.Achieve requirements from certification authorities for experimental flights.Superior time management ability and demonstrated experience as a self-starter.Define the roadmap and execute the modification plan accordingly.Develop test plans, take part in test facility development and upgrades, perform full engine testing, and analyze test results.Support design reviews.Work with systems engineers to ensure all system requirements are met.RequirementsMaster's degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar.8+ years of experience in aero engine development and/or aeroengine modifications.Strong engineering fundamentals in thermodynamics, structural, materials, and fluids analysis, heat transfer and cooling schemes, and engine performance.Deep knowledge in combustion of kerosene and hydrogen, and cooling schemes.Strong expertise in engine development, testing and overall performance.In-depth knowledge and working experience with solutions, best practices & process of air breathing engine and design tools.Experience developing hardware from concept to working prototypes.Clear evidence of ownership from work experience.Skill in creating analytical/numerical models of fluid systems and aeroengines.Desired SkillsExperience in modifications of aerospace products.Experience with hydrogen technology and cryogenics.Experience using CAD to design parts/assemblies, NX is a plus.Quick prototyping is your middle name.Understanding of manufacturing aerospace processes forging/casting/assembly/CNC machining/turning/EDM/ECM.Demonstrated track record in a rapidly growing, changing, and highly technical environment.BenefitsLearning opportunities: Language courses.Lean organization and flexible working hours.Company events and free lunch with the team once a week.Relocation process package and the possibility to visit different working locations.Competitive salary.Diversity: We value diversity in our company and our teams.
