The SPA Studios, the Award-winning Feature Animation Studio is selecting talented and experienced Senior Rigger/Character TD to help us develop a robust studio level rigging System using Blender software.ContextThe Senior Rigger / Character TD will be involved in the design and implementation of the rigging system from the earliest stages.The Rigger will work with the Animation Department to determine features, needs, and desires.He will also work with Pipeline TD to define how to integrate his work in the existing pipeline.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain high-quality, high-performance animation rigsPrepare both rigging systems for Character, Set and Props.Work closely with Modelers and Animators to ensure all disciplines are getting what they needDevelop tools to support AnimationProvide support for the rigs during productionDocument system and advocate best practicesSolid understanding of anatomy and kinematics4+ years of industry experience in character rigging (Blender)Solid understanding of 3D animation pipelinesAbility to develop animation tools to support rigsAbility to work collaboratively with technical and creative team membersSelf-motivated and a good team playerGood communication skills with both technical and artistic departmentsProactive person and problem-solving attitudeSpoken and written English is a must.More Technical Skills as a Plus:Python, C#, C++PyQt or PySide
