Job Description Please note candidates must be able to speak fluent Spanish and English for this role.
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, thermal, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks.
Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.
Together with our clients, we're helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
We are in search of a Graduate Electrical Engineer to support our team of engineers with designing, analysing, and assessing medium and high-voltage substations for power generation projects, specifically renewable energy projects.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in substation engineering and electrical engineering principles.
In this role you will support to assess safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs implementation of substations.
Your other responsibilities will include:
Primary plant design and layouts for HV substations;Equipment specifications for HV Plant and ancillary equipment;Providing engineering design input to major electrical power projects from feasibility/front end engineering stages to detailed design/site construction monitoring and commissioning;Project management and coordination with clients and our design teams within Mott MacDonald including civil, structural, environmental, survey/geotechnical, transport, protection and control and CAD/BIM team;Delivering projects in new technologies e.g.
energy storage, HVDC systems, smart grid solutions, waste to energy etc;Provide professional services to clients both Nationally and Internationally.Candidate Specification We are looking for committed and motivated graduates with a genuine passion and a desire to make a difference in the world.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience (excluding placements) and have a degree (obtained no earlier than 2023) or are expected to achieve one in electrical engineering. In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.
We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:
Methodical approach to problem solving.Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.Excellent written communication and attention to detail.Fluent in Spanish and English.As we want the best people for the role, we support flexible working.
