Offer Description The BASLA research group at the University of Balearic Islands is seeking applications from highly qualified and motivated researchers for a two-year post-doctoral contract. The position mainly focuses on research, although it will also involve joint lecturing duties on a subject from an undergraduate programme at the UIB alongside a lecturer in the Department of Spanish, Modern and Classical Languages. Applicants should have completed their thesis and been awarded their PhD.
Specific Requirements We welcome applications from individuals working in all areas of cognitive science spanning linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, and related fields such as education. The BASLA research group seeks applicants willing to contribute in a collaborative and innovative fashion to the development of a recent research project awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (LAUA Project Reference Number: PID2021122127NB-I00 funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by "ERDF a way of making Europe") whose mission is to explore language attrition and ultimate attainment by a variety of populations bilingual/multilingual in a combination of Germanic and Romance languages.

Research statements should specify how the applicant's research will integrate with and benefit from ongoing cognitive science research conducted at the aforementioned funded research project. Languages: English and Spanish. Skills in other Germanic and Romance languages would be a plus.
Prior Experience Particular consideration will be given to candidates with experience in a similar post-doctoral position.

Eligibility Criteria Curricular merits in the field (max. 40 points). Qualifications in the specialist area (max. 20 points), other (max. 5 points). Video curriculum and, if applicable, personal interview (max. 20 points). Experience in the field (max. 15 points). E.g.: > 3 years (10 points), Other merits (max. +5 points). E.g.: recommendation letters. Eligibility threshold: 60 points.
Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non-EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non-EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. The equivalence can be requested from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain.
Selection Process In accordance with article 8 of the REGULATORY AGREEMENT 145140 of 15th June 2022 that approves the regulation governing the recruitment of research staff under chapter 6 allocation of the university budget, as well as technical or operational research staff.
