Role Overview Mondly by Pearson is seeking an experienced and result-driven Engineering Manager with a strong technical background in Frontend Web development, particularly with Ember.js, to lead our Frontend team. This role is pivotal to our mission of creating cutting-edge educational web applications and experiences that drive learner success. We are looking for a leader who can combine technical expertise with a pragmatic, product-driven, and business-focused approach. This role will report to the Head of Engineering and operate as part of the Technology team, unless the Employer determines otherwise.
Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Lead a team of Frontend engineers by example, setting high standards for code quality, performance, and best practices. Stay up-to-date with the latest Frontend development trends, tools, and technologies.Team Management: Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the Frontend engineering team. Mentor and coach team members, helping them grow in their careers and achieve their goals. Provide direction, guidance, and training to the team; manage the onboarding plan of new employees and ensure consistency around practices, tools, and technologies used inside the team. Promote a culture of partnership, teamwork, innovation, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.Product Development: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and execute the Frontend product roadmap. Ensure that the team delivers high-quality software on time.Architecture and Design: Drive the design and architecture of Frontend applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security.
