Our strong operations and commercialization expertise result in high volume availability of competitive, efficient products that truly drive change.Position:BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a "dynamic, results-driven" individual to join as a Buyer at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.Key Accountabilities:Sourcing of goods and services.Select, develop and manage supply base for components in upcoming and existing designs.Develop and manage cost-saving ideas within BW's Supply Chain.Spread lean principles within BW's supplier pool in order to identify disruptive ideas ensuring over the years competitiveness.Manage strategic sourcing of components.Negotiate complex and/or critical supplier agreements in line with existing strategies.Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.Support internal stakeholders with their indirect procurement needs.Attend cross-functional team meetings and support internal customer needs.Conduct continuous improvement efforts focused on optimizing procurement processes.Work toward consistency, alignment, communication, and adoption of best practices.Comply with environmental, health and safety, quality, and productivity standards.Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice, and working period.Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules.Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant.Education & Experience:Degree in Engineering, Economy, or Finance.5 or more years of experience in the purchasing area.Knowledge in SAP (preferable).Good computer skills.Knowledge of the automotive industry and customers.Solid knowledge of related government laws and regulations.Strong project management skills as well as good moderation and presentation skills.Good knowledge of lean production and production-related IT.Conflict Management
