Job Description: As a Strategy Associate you will be supporting the development of Spanish & Italian markets, analysing market trends, leading commercial projects and ultimately delivering top-line growth to Trainline. It will be essential that you have experience working with high growth digital businesses either in consultancy role or an in-house strategy role, delivering growth in new markets. We have big plans to grow these markets, you'll play your part in disrupting and defining a product that is changing the way we travel and inspiring millions of people all over the world to make more environmentally sustainable travel choices every day. This is a truly career defining role for someone passionate about driving growth, there will be plenty of support from us on this journey, including significant marketing and product investments, but we need you to help make this a reality! You will collaborate closely with many stakeholders across the company to deliver projects to meet your goals, including the brand, growth, product, finance, and supply teams. You will report to the Country Manager Italy and Spain, and you'll be based in Barcelona working with a hybrid office/home schedule.
Understanding the dynamics of the markets and Trainline's performance, working with the Country manager, finance and data, you will monitor, report and present Trainline's market performance in Spain and Italy at a granular level of detail, surfacing important trends and insights on a regular basis and communicating these across the organisation. You will use these insights to build action plans and coordinate resources to deliver tangible results. Identifying and delivering growth-oriented projects, you will own strategic projects including strategic partnerships, promotional campaigns, and co-marketing plans. You'll identify business opportunities and bring them to life while being a source of knowledge on the Spanish market together with the Country manager, and you will support all teams on country-related decisions.
Qualifications:
Proven experience with high growth digital/tech businesses, providing market analysis, business planning and project management within top tier consultancy firms or in-house.Strong analytical and presentation skills.Experience building strong relationships both inside and outside an organisation, including with colleagues in different countries.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish (native or equivalent). Very good communication skills in English, Italian language skills would be a plus.A good understanding of online and offline marketing.Hands-on self-starter with the combination of analytical and commercial skills to figure out what needs doing and then doing it.Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment; appetite and motivation to raise the game.
